The Chinese Rat is a welcomed in ancient times as a protector and bringer of material prospertity.
It also is the 1st of the 12 Animals in the chinese calendar.
Being born in this sign means having many talents, as well as other characteristics that may not be so admirable. Rats are very active and need a lot of mental and physical stimulation. They can be calm and alert, but sometimes their brains can cause a mental restlessness, tempting them to take on too much responsibility and to many tasks, only to discover they are unable to meet their commitments. Rats are considered some of the smartest there are. Add to their intelligence a curiosity and great imagination, and they seem as sharp as a needle.
